Rahul KP

Rahul Kannoly Praveen, also known as Rahul K P, is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a winger or striker for Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters. He has represented the India national team at various youth levels including the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Rahul’s first professional game was when he played for Thrissur at a local tournament in 2012. Former Kerala coach M Peethambaran gave him formal training in the game and under his tutelage, the youngster found his space by attending several football camps across the State.

In 2013, he attended a camp under former KSEB player Leo Rajan, who was also the coach of Thrissur football team. His passion and performance paved way for a selection in the district team and later he earned a call to play for Kerala in the Under 14 team in an inter-state tournament in Kolkata.

The tourney was the turning point in Rahul’s fledgling football career as he was its top scorer despite Kerala not making it to the finals. That’s what also led to him being picked for the World Cup camp at Goa by All India Football Federation (AIFF) academy in 2014.
