Neeraj Chopra- Javelin Throw Olympics Gold Winner

Neeraj Chopra Bio

Neeraj Chopra has won a historic athletics gold medal to become India’s second ever individual Olympic gold medallist after shooter Abhinav Bindra. The 23-year-old farmer’s son from Khandra village near Panipat in Haryana produced a second round throw of 87.58m in the finals to stun the athletics world and end India’s 100-year wait for a track and field medal in the Olympics.

He was the 2016 World U20 champion and set the world under-20 record of 86.48 m. He is the first Indian athlete to ever win a World title in Track and Field at U-20. He hurled the javelin at 88.07m to break his own national record, where his previous one was the 88.06m gold-medal winning throw at the 2018 Asian Games and Commonwealth Games 2018.
