Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on Monday that he has taken the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi as the country gets ready to expand its nationwide vaccination drive against the coronavirus infection to drive down infections in those above the age of 60 and those over 45 with comorbidities. PM Narendra Modi was administered home-grown ‘Covaxin’ by Bharat Biotech.
Sister P Niveda, from Puducherry, administered Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin to the prime minister.
Taking to Twitter, PM Narendra Modi said, “Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19. I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine.”
After taking the coronavirus vaccine, PM Narendra Modi appealed to all those who are eligible to get vaccinated to make India a “Covid-free” country.
“Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!” PM Narendra Modi tweeted. PM Narendra Modi reached AIIMS early this morning to ensure no inconvenience is caused to common people.
