Elavenil Valarivan, an Indian professional sports shooter, has represented India and won the 10m Air Rifle gold at Rio de Janeiro ISSF World Cup in Sydney and Suhl in 2018. She also stands to be one of the 3rd Indian woman after Apurvi Chandela and Anjali Bhagwat to win a senior ISSF World Cup gold. She has also secured silver in World University Games in 2019. She is also titled, ‘Women’s 10m air rifle world No.1’. Elavenil Valarivan has been also selected in India’s shooting team for the Tokyo Olympics. She was named with Apurvi Chandela for the event, highly competitive in India, as the national selection committee announced a 15-member team on 4th April 2021.
