Dhanalakshmi Sekhar, an Indian Athlete, and Sprinter shot to fame overnight with her sensational speed. She began her career in 2018, where she finished third in both 100m and 200m sprints at the Tamil Nadu State Championships held in Tirunelveli. Dhanalakshmi has also made it to the Tokyo Olympics via the mixed 4x400m relay team. She proved out and surprised the nation with her speed back in March, by running in the 400 m trials, where, she clocked 54.27 seconds to finish third in the trials and made her way into the Indian Olympic contingent. She is considered to be the 100m, 200m sprint specialist. She is well-known also for backing down the gauntlet at Dutee Chand and Hima Das for the title of India’s sprint queen during the 2021 Federation Cup by topping three Indian sprint queens in as many days. Her second feat also saw her break the legendary PT Usha’s meet record in the Federation Cup in 200m, which was set 23 years back, about a year before she was born. She also kicked off 2021 with gold medals both in the 100m and 200m at the Tamil Nadu state meet held in Sivakasi back in January.
