Bengaluru to be under complete Lockdown from Saturday 8pm to 5am on Monday


BBMP Commissioner BH Anil Kumar has announced a complete lockdown in Bengaluru every Sunday, starting from tomorrow. In an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19, the strict lockdown will be imposed from 8 pm on Saturday till 5 am on Monday.

As Covid-19 cases continue to spike, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has announced lockdown on all Sundays till August 2. Authorities said that the public is not allowed to roam around on the streets unnecessarily during this time.

Grocery stores, fruits and vegetable shops, mutton shops and pharmacies will be open as usual. The Commissioner said that it is mandatory to wear masks while stepping out. He also requested people to cooperate with the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and the police.

It is important for the public to cooperate with the government to fight against Covid-19, he said.
